Las Vegas — October 14, 2026 — Abnormal AI, the AI-native behavior security company, today announced it has achieved the Amazon Web Services (AWS) AI Competency in the Generative AI category. The competency is a recognition reserved for AWS Partners validated by AWS for technical expertise, security, and operational excellence in building generative AI solutions.
Achieving the AWS AI Competency in the Generative AI category validates Abnormal's technical proficiency in building generative AI solutions responsibly. Abnormal's core detection engine runs on proprietary behavioral AI, establishing a baseline of normal behavior across the entities in a customer's environment designed to autonomously catch and remediate advanced attacks. Abnormal applies generative AI from frontier model providers on top of that engine for the use cases where explaining, coaching, and reporting matter most to customers.
"Generative AI works best in security when it’s paired with a detection engine customers can trust," said Evan Reiser, CEO of Abnormal AI. "This recognition from AWS gives our customers validation from AWS of how we apply generative AI, on top of the behavioral AI at the core of detection and remediation."
Abnormal applies generative AI across several products in the Abnormal Behavioral Security Platform. Within Inbound Email Security, generative AI translates complex security data into plain-language summaries. AI Security Mailbox uses generative AI to tailor the autonomous, personalized feedback employees receive after reporting a phishing message. AI Phishing Coach uses it to generate attack simulations, ad hoc campaigns, and video training that are based on real attacks and tailored to each employee’s role, behavior signals, language. Abnormal uses generative AI across other products and use cases as well.
Beyond generative AI, Abnormal also applies its behavioral AI detection engine to help organizations secure their own use of AI. AI Governance, one of several new products the company recently launched, gives organizations visibility into their AI tools, agents, and chat context to identify risk and help enforce policy automatically, including for AI usage on cloud services such as Amazon Bedrock.
Abnormal integrates with AWS environments and aligns to AWS security modernization initiatives. This recognition builds on Abnormal's existing status as an AWS ISV Accelerate Program and AWS Security ISV Competency partner, and its “Deployed on AWS” designation in AWS Marketplace, giving customers building on AWS a path to procure, deploy, and scale Abnormal alongside the rest of their AWS environment.
